Education for Empowerment

Ms. Subedi is one of the long standing faculty members serving at NSS, having joined way back in the year 1998. She initially joined as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and later was appointed as the Academic-in-Charge, responsible for overlooking and supervising over the academic programme at NSS in the year 2007, and has been effectively discharging her duties till date in the said capacity. Ms. Subedi holds a Masters degree in Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry and also had experience working as a part-time lecturer in Amrit Science College between the years 1997-99. She has been felicitated with the Award for excellence and long standing service by the NIST Foundation in the year 2018.

Mr. Gautam joined NSS in the year 2008 as a faculty member of the department of Mathematics and was given added responsibilities to head the department in the year 2011. He is currently pursuing M. Phil. Course in Mathematics from Tribhuvan University in addition to the Masters’s degree he obtained in the year 2005 from the same University. He has been a recipient of different workshops and seminars on the subject matter, organized by the Central Department of Mathematics, T.U., and Nepal Mathematical Society. In addition, he has also attended training conducted by the British Council for ‘O Level’ Mathematics teachers in the year 2010 and the Regional IC3 Forum 2020, a convention of career counselors from all over the world, conducted in Nepal. He is also the author of textbooks for Mathematics Grade 11 and 12 as per the curriculum prescribed by the National Examinations Board, NEB.

Since 2011, Mr. Sunil Chapagain has been an integral part of the Department of Chemistry at the National School of Sciences, Lainchaur, initially joining as a lecturer. His dedication and expertise in chemistry have significantly contributed to the department’s success. In recognition of his outstanding performance, he was appointed as the Head of the Department in 2021. Mr. Chapagain has also been serving as the Academic Coordinator since 2023, demonstrating his strong leadership and organizational skills.

Mr. Chapagain holds M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry from Tribhuwan University, Nepal, all achieved with first-division honors. His specialization in Physical Chemistry has enriched the curriculum, providing students with a deep understanding of the subject. Mr. Chapagain’s passion for chemistry and commitment to education have made him a respected and admired figure at the National School of Sciences, inspiring students and colleagues alike.

Mr. Bharat Bahadur Bhandari joined NSS in the year 2072 BS and is currently serving as the head of the Nepali department. He obtained a master’s degree from the Central Department of Education, as well as a master’s Degree from the Central department of Nepali, Tribhuvan University. His core interest is in Education studies, Literary Philosophy, Linguistics, Language teaching, and Learning psychology. He has published academic and research articles in various academic journals, and he has also edited different kinds of magazines and journals. Mr. Bhandari is well known as the poet Sojho Gaunle in Nepali Literature. He published ‘Maan ko Bansuri’ in 2064 BS and ‘Marubhumi ma himpaat’ in 2077 BS (An anthology of poems). Mr. Bhandari has been awarded in the National Poetry Conference organized by Nepal Academy in the year 2072 BS. Furthermore, he has been awarded and felicitated by various other organizations.

Laxman Jnawali joined the National School of Sciences(NSS) in 2012 as a full-time English teacher and has been serving as a Head of the English Department since 2020 AD. He is a senior teacher who has been involved in teaching for more than sixteen years. Previously, he was a faculty member at National Integrated School (NIC), Dillibazar; Learning Realm International School (LRI), Kalanki; and Nepalaya College, Kalanki.

Jnawali earned his M.Phil. (in English) from Tribhuvan University in 2010 AD. He works collaboratively with his colleagues and provides overall strategies, direction, and leadership for the Department and oversight of its research, teaching, and outreach endeavors. He also serves on the editorial boards of “Explorer” and other college magazines published by the school. He is also the author of the book Boost Your English, a resource grammar book. He is an enthusiastic educator teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in English and is dedicated to student mentoring and counseling. He always advocates academic Excellence

Mr. Puskal Khanal is young, dynamic, cheerful, and enthusiastic faculty of the Biology Department at NSS. He has been serving this institution for six years. He completed his M.Sc. from the Central Department of Zoology, Tribhuvan University in 2016. Mr. Khanal is popular among students for his zestful performance, devotion to the profession, and amiable behavior. Moreover, he is also interested in research activities. He has a keen engrossment in wildlife ecology and conservation biology.

Mr. Thapa joined NSS as a faculty member of Mathematics in 2017 AD and was elevated to Head of Mathematics Department in 2022 AD. He is a fully qualified teacher with more than 10- years of teaching experience who possesses a genuine enthusiasm and passion for teaching Mathematics in an easily understandable manner with the knowledge of online learning platforms too.

In addition, Thapa acquires the traits of developing excellent rapport with students, his colleagues, and parents to produce a friendly and supportive school environment.

Since 2010, Mr. Rajib Chandra Belbase has been an integral part of the Department of Physics at NSS, NIST Lainchaur, initially joining as a lecturer. His commitment and expertise led to his appointment as the Head of the Department in 2014. With a teaching certification in senior secondary education, Mr. Rajib’s multifaceted roles encompass item writing, project development, and authorship, notably contributing to the Pioneer Physics practical and Physics practice books. 

Fueled by a passion for fostering an exceptional learning atmosphere, his primary goal revolves around enhancing students’ grasp of physics. Having completed I.Sc., B.Sc., and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from Tribhuwan University, Nepal, all achieved with first-division honors, Mr. Rajib specializes in Solid State Physics and Plasma Physics.
